Finally! I have reviewed my batch of ciders from the epic snow day of 2018!
I’ve been a little sick so I’ve gathered all my notes from the past few weeks to crank out some reviews while I’m recovering. This flu is no joke!
A few breweries have dabbled into the cider world and produced some great stuff. It’s quite smart for a brewery to try and make other beverages to appeal to many drinkers. Florida Beer Co. has released a trifecta of tropical ciders under the name Caribé. My mom brought me the Key Lime and Pineapple ciders. I love her.
Cider: Key Lime Caribé Cider
Maker: Florida Beer Co.
Location: Cape Canaveral, Florida
Container: 12oz bottle
Tasted: At home
It has a slight, green tint and fewer bubbles than the Pineapple cider tasted earlier. The aroma isn’t overpowering but gives a nice waft of lime when poured.
It’s lime! Not super citrusy, very subtle and yeasty. It isn’t particularly sweet, had a little dry finish. Just like the pineapple, it builds up the flavor the more you drink it. I don’t taste any other flavor than lime, I am even having a hard time tasting the apple.
It’s good, I think I like the Pineapple Caribé better. I’m not a huge lime fan, but this wasn’t tart or sour like other lime flavored things. Just like the Pineapple, perfect for the Florida summer and a great thirst quencher.
