Sorry I have been so absent. Lots of changes happening at work and in life. I’m settling into my new home which has become flooded with gifts of cider and beer. Work is getting kinda crazy with something new thats going to get us on the map.
I finally sat down to review some of the ciders that have been chillin’ in my fridge (after my roommate drank them…) and had two more from the Rekorderlig lineup. I already tasted the Pear which you can read here.
Rekorderlig is a cider company from Sweden that formed in 1996 and uses pure spring water in the town of Vimmerby. It’s pretty available and can be found in grocery stores as well as specialty beer stores, like my BFF Hop City.
Cider: Strawberry Lime
Location: Vimmerby, Sweden
Container: Can (poured into glass)
Tasted: at Home
I sat down and had the Strawberry Lime Cider which comes in a can. It poured pink and full of carbonation. The aroma was of pink Sprite and the bubbles tickled my nose.
The taste was sweet, sweeter than most ciders I’ve had. It tasted like strawberry soda, barely tasted the lime. The mouthfeel is quite silky and thick I had a few more sips and still couldn’t taste the lime and it got a little too sweet for me. I shared the can with my roommate, who LOVES this cider, since I still had another cider to review.
Overall, it wasn’t my favorite. I liked the Pear better but they were both still too sweet for me. I’m sensing the Swedes love their sweet apple cider.
